April is here, which means it’s festival season in Palm Springs! Whether you’re coming to the desert for Coachella and Stagecoach or just planning a spring break getaway, the desert is in full bloom with events and things to do. Check out these can’t-miss April events in Palm Springs.

Tastes & Sounds of Cathedral City | April 2 & 9

The Cathedral City Community Amphitheater transforms into an epicenter of food and music for the last two Tuesdays of Tastes & Sounds of Cathedral City. Each week offers visitors a unique theme, with local artists performing and local restaurants providing dinner. This month’s performers include The Dreamboats and Giselle Woo & The Night Owls.

Friday Nights on Pierson | Fridays all month long

Desert Hot Springs’ weekly block party returns in April for pop-ups shops, live music, food trucks and more on Friday nights. Friday Nights on Pierson showcases the diversity of Desert Hot Springs’ Downtown Arts and Culture District and is a great way to enjoy local flavors, sounds, and crafts. Find this weekly fun at Palm Drive and Pierson Boulevard.

First Fridays on El Paseo | April 5

First Fridays on El Paseo are back with plenty of fun to enjoy! On the first Friday of each month, you’ll find classic cars cruising down El Paseo for El Paseo Cruise night, plus artists receptions and gallery tours as part of ArtWalk El Paseo. This is perfect for date night or just enjoying a perfect desert evening!

Palm Springs Vintage Market | April 7

A local favorite, Palm Springs Vintage Market returns this month with a treasure trove of vintage and retro finds. Held on the first Sunday of the month at the PS Cultural Center at Camelot Theater, the Palm Springs Vintage Market is a must for antique hunters and lovers of all things midcentury modern!

Opera in the Park | April 7

The Palm Springs Opera Guild celebrates the 25th annual Opera in the Park on Sunday, April 7 at Sunrise Park in Palm Springs. Enjoy this free concert featuring six accomplished opera professionals, perfect for packing a picnic and enjoying the sunset in Palm Springs!

Frey House II Tours | Every Saturday through May

Enjoy a rare glimpse into one of the most iconic midcentury modern homes in Palm Springs! Through May 25, Frey House II is open for self-guided tours on Saturdays. These tours are hosted by the Palm Springs Art Museum, which also recently welcomed the Alluminaire House to Palm Springs. Make it a day for all things Modernism by touring both!

Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival | April 12-14; 19-21

The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival returns to the Empire Polo Club in Indio for two weekends of music, festivities and fun in the desert. This year, check out headliners Lana Del Rey, Tyler, The Creator, and Doja Cat. This year also features a reunion performance by No Doubt, plus the debut of Sublime with original singer Bradley Nowell’s son, Jakob, on vocals.

Stagecoach Country Music Festival| April 26-28

Honky tonk, Stetsons, and country boots take over Empire Polo at the end of the month to round out festival month in Indio. This year’s Stagecoach Country Music Festival includes headliners like Eric Church, Miranda Lambert, and Morgan Wallen, plus special late night performances by Nickleback, Diplo, and Wiz Khalifa. Guy Fieri’s Stagecoach Smokehouse is always one of my highlights of Stagecoach–don’t miss it!
